Our History
Sterling Transportation, Inc. began in August of 1993, through the vision and leadership of Keith Davis, our founder. From exceptionally humble beginnings, Keith built the company into a multimillion-dollar corporation, dedicating himself to achieving an exceptional reputation for customer service. The success of Sterling Transportation is not Keith’s doing alone, however, as he is quick to trumpet the importance his employees and their role in the company’s growth. “I have learned in life that getting where you want to go is only half of life,” said Keith recently, “who you go with is the other half.” Recognizing that relationships are at the root of much of his success, both personally and professionally, Keith continuously devotes himself to his customers, his employees and his vision for the company’s future. Sterling Transportation’s success tells the story of these efforts.
While customers and relationships are indelible footprints in the company’s path to excellence, they alone do not reveal the entire story. The company maintains a powerful and ever-expanding vision, believing the best is yet to come, should they stay true to their core values. Keith’s story itself is a classic American tale, as the Chicago-born entrepreneur learned the ropes of transportation/freight industry beginning in the early 1980’s, and borrowed many of his current business ideals from experiences he gained at every level of the shipping business. In fact, it was along this road that Keith picked up the ideals and keys to success in business that he continues to maintain today. Having been shaped initially and continuously by its founder, Sterling Transportation trumpets these same values to all of its employees, partners and customers. Seemingly simple, the beliefs aspired to by Keith and Sterling Transportation include treating all people with respect, demanding integrity, and desiring to see both employees AND customers experience happiness and satisfaction in their relationship with Sterling Transportation. While the “bottom line” is important in any growing business, Sterling Transportation’s dedication to doing things “the right way” and building extraordinary relationships with customers and employees is our foundation.
